OUR HISTORY
- Independent Global Footballing Education Center of Excellence. Starting in December 1991 at a Christmas Soccer Camp in Arcadia, CA. CGSA Clint Greenwood Soccer Academy was born. At the 2006 & 2010 World Cups 3 CGSA students represented the United States at the biggest stage in the world. At the 2006 World Cup CGSA students Landon Donovan, Carlos Bocanegra, and Jimmy Conrad represented the U.S.A. Men's National Team. In the 2010 Cup Landon Donovan, Carlos Bocanegra, and Maurice Edu all represented the U.S. at the biggest stage. Very impressive results for a Soccer Education Center.
ABOUT CGSA
Clint Greenwood Soccer Academy was founded in 1991 by Clint Greenwood a professional footballer that stumbled upon a talent and passion for the art of teaching the skills necessary to be a professional player. Something that had never been of interest to him during his playing days. Around 4 years after that Winter Camp in 1991 CGSA was now operating full time and a unique system of teaching young players the technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and mental components to be successful in the #1 Sport in the World called Football.

The 6 Steps to Success are the 6 major components that make up an Elite Soccer Player. These components serve as the CGSA Pyramid of Player Development. (Each level serves as the building block of the Clint Greenwood Soccer Academy's system of training and player development.) CGSA uses these as the overall outline of the way Clint Greenwood created the Template for all the coaching staff to follow. This system is essential to the success of our students and has served to be a key component in the successes of some of our students that have trained with great professionalism, dedication, and spirit while with CGSA. CGSA students such as; Robert Earnshaw (Welsh International). Only player to score a hat trick in every division in England}, Landon Donovan, (the all-time leading goal-scorer for the U.S. National team.). Sacha Kljesten (U.S.M.N.T., Seton Hall University, Chivas USA MLS, Anderlecht, Belgium 1st Division), Leonard Griffin (UCLA, US National Team, Chicago Fire, Portland Timbers, Los Angeles Galaxy, Current Head Coach USF), Ashley Nick, (professional player in 3 continents, and NCAA National Champion at USC), Carlos Bocanegra (US team captain , and first player to captain a English Premier League Team Full-ham F.C.), Maurice Edu (USMNT, Professional Footballer Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish Premier League, currently working as comentator for ESPN), Nick Romando (US International & MLS All-Star). Christen Press (USWNT) and the Herman Trophy Winner at Stanford in 2010, Jill Oaks (UCLA and USWNT), Cortney Proctor (US National Team and UCLA), Roseanna Tantillo, (USC NCAA Champion and Captain, Professional player Sky Blue F.C.), and many others.
